Jul 08, 2013

Dennis Family Homes won 'Best Volume Builder Display Home $200,000 - $300,000' for the Lakewood 282 in Warragul at the Master Builders Association of Victoria’s 2013 Regional Building Awards - South East (Gippsland) presented on 5th July,

The prestigious accolade was one of only two awards won by volume builders on the night.

Dennis Family Homes Design Manager, Kelvyn Rowley was proud to accept the award bestowed on the Lakewood display, which is located at the Waterford Rise estate.

“The Waterford Rise displays in Warragul mark our first display presence in Gippsland, so to gain immediate recognition from the Master Builders Association is extremely satisfying,” he commented.

“Our Lakewood display which won the award holds particular significance, as this design has not previously been on display in any other location.”

A four bedroom single storey home with two living areas and a separate study, two bathrooms, alfresco and double garage, the Lakewood design forms part of the Dennis Family Homes Inspirations Series and is suitable for construction on blocks from a minimum of 16 metres in width.

The astute Lakewood design promotes togetherness in its combined kitchen, dining and lounge area. Amongst the most distinctive features of the Lakewood is its huge walk-in kitchen pantry, which is a standard inclusion in its floorplan. The home is available in 28 and 26 square variations, with the larger size being displayed in Warragul.

Notable optional extras featured in the Lakewood display include French doors to the master bedroom, a Caesarstone bench in the kitchen and a Colorbond roof. Additional ceiling height to 2580mm helps contribute to a sense of space, as do the wide stacking sliding doors which open the expansive kitchen, meals and family space to the alfresco area.

The Lakewood was designed to feature a large flexible open space that can be used as the ideal entertaining home for all family occasions. The bedrooms are clustered together in a sleeping zone which is perfect for families with young children.

Externally, the home has a contemporary presence with its rendered feature, use of tiled walls and mini orb highlights that complement the Colorbond roof. A large raised portico further enhances its street presence. The display showcases the Savannah facade, one of six facade options available with the Lakewood design.

As with all display homes constructed by Dennis Family Homes, the Lakewood display has been built with best quality workmanship, and with sustainability and innovation in mind.

“The award-winning Lakewood display is a fine example of the excellence and attention to detail that accompanies the design, planning and construction of our homes,” Mr Rowley said.

“We believe that our team at Dennis Family Homes has achieved much in presenting a contemporary home of significant appeal which is positioned within an affordable price range.”
