Modeina encompasses the last available land parcel in Burnside in Melbourne’s north west.  It is an infill site occupying an area to the north of Dennis Family’s earlier development at Burnside.

The entire Modeina project will eventually cover in excess of 900 lots in total, creating an 88-hectare community accommodating a proposed population of 2,500 people.

The Dennis Family initially received permits for the first 260 lots at Modeina.  Civil construction work for Stages One to Three commenced in September 2013 and the first residents moved into their new homes at Modeina in December 2014.

In July 2017, the Dennis Family gained the planning permit to develop the balance of the estate, comprising approximately 620 further lots.

Infrastructure already in place at Modeina includes the Burnside Children’s and Community Centre. This popular facility, which has provided kindergarten and maternal and child health services since opening in 2016, is currently being extended to include two extra community rooms and a new kitchen.

Construction is underway at Modeina’s Government Primary School – Burnside Primary – which is due to open for the 2019 school year.  Other planned infrastructure works for 2018 include a central reserve with kick-about area and picnic areas.   Landscaping of the Kororoit Creek corridor will result in the extension of the shared walking and cycle path to connect Modeina to Caroline Springs Town Centre.
