The opportunity

Dennis Family Homes is offering an attractive role for an experienced Bills of Quantities estimator. Bring your technical skills and construction knowledge to join our conscientious and experienced Head Office team. Use multiple systems, including DataBuild and gain exposure to Autech plus Salesforce.

Reporting to a consultative Technical Services Manager, this full-time position is responsible for ensuring that all bills are produced with accuracy to meet the sales and operational objectives of the business. Specifically, you will be impactful in the following:

  • Develop and deliver BOQ files for the prompt estimation of projects.
  • Generate and maintain existing BOQs within Databuild, variation catalogue, material cutting guides, standard and option recpies for the full range of Dennis Family products.
  • Assist in producing direct building costs for retail/sale prices.
  • Produce pricing and accurate contract output descriptions of Standard, Variation and Display options for the product range.
  • Be a Databuild expert to assist others with the system.
  • Manage price file requests.
  • Communicate with the business all changes and new product, and ensure that pricing information is accurate across all systems.

This is a key role within our organization, providing an excellent career opportunity with attractive remuneration. It is a full time opportunity based a minimum of x3 days in our Notting Hill Head Office, the balance of days may be worked remotely. You will receive extensive support from the Tech Services Manager plus experienced team mates.

About you

Having worked in the residential construction and building industry previously, you will have a sound knowledge of Building design and Construction. Additionally, you will possess the following:

  • 2-3 years experience in estimating.
  • Residential construction background and experience.
  • Strong communication and team work skills.
  • Databuild software skills (preferred).
  • Building Diploma, qualified tradesperson or apprenticeship in carpentry.
  • Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
