Groups benefits from Northquarter community grants

A wide range of projects and community groups operating in the Pine Rivers area have received a much-needed financial boost following the recent announcement of the 2009 Northquarter Community Fund grant recipients.

Now in its third year, the Community Fund is an annual initiative from the Northquarter project manager, the Dennis Family Corporation.

With this year's donation of $6000, almost $25,000 has now been donated to 35 local community groups.

Congratulations to the successful 2009 NorthquarterCommunity Fund grant recipients:

Albany Creek Crushers JRLFC Inc. - Purchase gym equipment
Caboolture Koala Care & Rescue - Purchase rescue equipment
Global Care - Fund preventative programs for youth at risk
Kallangur Scout Group - Purchase a fridge
LINC - Purchase a PC monitor and vacuum cleaner
Osprey House Management Committee - Buy tools for bush care work
Petrie Scout Group - Purchase a fridge/freezer
Pine Rivers Catchment Association - Library upgrade
Pine Rivers Municipal Brass Band - Purchase a portable PA system
Pine Rivers Slimmers Club Inc. - Fund a motivational speaker for a "Positive Doing" lecture
Quota Club of North Lakes - Support for a gift giving programmes elderly aged care residents
RAAF Association Pine Rivers - Replace duplicating machine * Salvation Army - Vegie patch program
Vineyard Mercy Centre - Install security screen doors
YMCA Strathpine Early Childhood Centre - Purchase outdoor equipment
Youth & Families Association - Purchase training videos, DVDs and books

Grant Dennis, Dennis Family Corporation Executive Chairman, congratulated the 16 successful groups and wished them well with their endeavours.

"These groups make an outstanding contribution to the local community and we hope that with this extra funding they will be able to further continue their important efforts."
