Community groups operating in Tarneit, Truganina and Hoppers Crossing are invited to submit their application to share in the $11,500 in grants available from the 2009 Rose Grange Community Fund.
Applications are open to not-for-profit community groups which operate within the City of Wyndham municipality and that have been functioning for at least 12 months. Grants of $500 or $1000 are available with applications closing at 5pm on Friday 4th September.
Over the past seven years, the Rose Grange Community Fund, which is an initiative from the estate project manager the Dennis Family Corporation, has donated more than $90,000 to local groups.
Adele Levinge, Executive Director, Dennis Family Corporation, says she is pleased that Rose Grange is able to give back to local residents through this community grants programme.
"The Rose Grange Community Fund provides a fantastic opportunity for local groups to apply for financial support to run valuable projects that will benefit the broader community."
Rose Grange Community Fund grants can be used for a wide range of projects. Previously funded activities included purchasing toys and other equipment; constructing a wetland ecosystem for treating greywater; replace camping and hiking equipment; and funding a breakfast programme for disadvantaged youth.
"We're very proud that through the Rose Grange Community Fund grants we?ve been able to support a wide range of activities and projects are I encourage local organisations to apply for funding in 2009," says Ms Levinge.
A panel of local community leaders will judge applications with the successful recipients of the 2009 Rose Grange Community Fund to be announced in October.
